Well This is it! My first blog post ever! I have a feeling that all but 2 people that will read this. Consisting of myself, and my lovely wife, whom will read my post because she she has a knack for doing things that she knows will make me smile! That is one of the many countless traits I adore about her. Thanks babe!

The idea of maintaining an active blog has been a faint yet crazy idea that I have been pondering since I have joined Twitter. My Twitter journey has lead me through a constant eye opening experience. I love it that there is always something on my feed that makes me shake my head, adds a wrinkle in my brain, and makes me laugh hysterically... at the same time!!! Along my Twitter path, I have followed several individuals and companies that post fantastic stuff. Tri Fuel, Fat Cyclist, and my good college friend Mike Billeter are a few that I read consistently.

So here's the deal, I have been trying to think of a good idea that will lay a firm foundation for a constant blog. About 3 weeks ago, I got a hair up my ass (idea) that for the first time made a ton of sense to me (I don't know why.) But before I continue, there is some foreshadowing.

I played college basketball for four years at the best damn NCAA Division 2 school in the country, Augustana College, in Sioux Falls, SD. I had a blast, and wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I had a descent career, and managed to leave the sport without any major reconstructive ankle or knee surgury. Since then, I have played in a couple city leagues, but it hasn't been the same. I haven't been the basketball player I used to be, but more importantly, I have lost the drive to get back to where I was, and because of that, I have decided that I needed a new experience.

This blog will track my new athletic journey, that will lead me to a title that not to many people on this earth carry... I want to be an IRONMAN!

I have decided to enter into The Ironman 70.3 in Branson, MO. The event takes place on September 19, exactly 30 weeks from today. My dream is to share my experience with anyone who wants to piggyback with me. I will start my training tomorrow (Monday) and journal it with you every 2-3 days. Hopefully I can share some useful tips, thoughtful ideas, and maybe even some humor with you. This is in fact my first real triathalon I have signed up for. I do plan on hitting up several local Tri's along the road, and they too will be a learning experience.

The Ironman 70.3 consists of 1.2 miles of open water swimming, 56 miles of cycling, and 13.1 miles of running. While I have been a part of some grueling activities, this one thus far is the toughest challenge to date. I believe I have the right mind set, and would love to know that people are taking a vested interest in my journey. So please leaves your comments, concerns, and advice on here to help me along my way. This will be fun, and I'm glad you'll along for the ride.

P.S. Please bear with me as I figure out the best way to display my blog, as the first couple weeks this baby will be under construction.

God Bless,
